The Intention

About the mission

My intention for arrow X moon (pronounced “arrow and moon”) is to cultivate a space where people can learn how to live out their purpose by equipping themselves with the inspiration, tools, and mindset they need to live in alignment with their “true” selves; a place to help them get clear on what makes them happiest so they can get off the hamster wheel of mindless to-dos and focus on getting present, balanced, and mindful.

The Name

About the name

An arrow is the ultimate symbol of alignment. It represents movement, direction, and focus. An arrow seeks to hit a target. When it’s aligned with its target, it succeeds.

The moon symbolizes intuition. It represents illumination, wisdom, and reflection. It shines brightest during the night, and it illuminates things which would otherwise be difficult to see in the darkness.

arrow

Alignment. Direction. Movement. Focus.

and

Interconnectedness.

moon

Intuition. Wisdom. Reflection. Illumination.

The phrase “arrow X moon” represents the relationship between an arrow (oneself) and the moon (one’s intuition or, alternatively, one’s higher self, God, and/or the universe).

As a human being with a soul at your core, you have hopes and dreams that tug at your heart strings. If you learn how to live in alignment with your intuition, it can serve as the light that shines on the things that will fill your life with purpose and fulfillment.

My story

About the owner

I was once in a place of perpetual burnout and frustration.

I felt completely lost. What’s worse, I felt like I kept losing myself. Every once in awhile I would get a glimpse of what it felt like to feel like myself again. My real self. My authentic self. But those moments were fleeting, and they were few and far between. I wanted desperately to hold on, to figure out a way to clutch that feeling of pureness to my chest and carry it with me forever.

Inevitably, the feeling would fade as I was pulled  back underneath the sweeping, suffocating currents of modern-day life. I could not for the life of me figure out how to get off that dispiriting hamster wheel. I constantly felt behind on everything in my personal life, and all I wanted to do was set my to-do list on fire. Every time I drifted back to that beautiful shore and got another glimpse of the pureness, the pull became stronger and stronger.

On October 8, 2017, I refused to continue living in an endless cycle of misalignment and fear. I decided that I was in complete control of every single aspect of my life and that I was going to do whatever it took to make that feeling of completeness a constant in my life. I remember searching for a word or a symbol or a picture that I could use to evoke the feeling of completeness on demand. The word “alignment” popped into my head – and what better symbol to represent alignment than an arrow?

That night, at 10:01pm to be exact, I decided to buy myself a promise ring online. It was a sterling silver wrap ring in the shape of an arrow. Every time I look at it, it reminds me that I can always, always come back to myself. I can always come back to alignment. I wear my arrow ring on my left hand where I wear all the jewelry I’ve ever made a deep, deep promise with. And I wear it every single day.

From that day forward, I started making the long journey back to myself. I started to dial back into my intuition. I began learning how to rediscover my purpose and how to stay excited and motivated about my goals. I began learning how to cultivate an intentional mindset. In a nutshell – I began learning how to live in alignment with my soul.

It has not been an easy journey, that’s for sure, and I have by no means reached a life of 100% alignment. But that’s not really my goal, anyway. I just want to be a little bit more aligned than I was yesterday.

On this blog I just want to share my journey with you. I want to share tips and tricks and things that have helped me and things that haven’t as I’m over here sitting in my little corner of the world trying to get aligned.

So thank you, sincerely, for stopping by, and I hope you’ll pop into my inbox or my DM’s once in awhile and tell me how your journey is going, too.

With love,

Amanda
